Cafe Ambio, nestled within the scenic Astley Park, offers a delightful retreat for cafe enthusiasts. Housed in a charming old building, this cafe is praised for its quick service and the warm demeanor of its staff. Visitors like Angela Williams appreciate the quality of the food, while Glevum Owl highlights its slightly upmarket ambiance — making it an ideal spot to indulge in a variety of cakes paired with tea, coffee, or even a luxurious hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and marshmallows.
The menu extends beyond sweet treats, featuring hearty soups and generous meal portions, as noted by James Ashwin, who also mentions the convenience of free parking, making Cafe Ambio a fantastic alternative to typical service stations. The cafe’s spacious indoor area and inviting outdoor seating within a picturesque red brick stable courtyard create a welcoming atmosphere for families and dog owners alike, as noted by Aparajita S.
While some customers mention that prices are a touch on the high side, the overall experience — from the delectable offerings to the enchanting surroundings — makes a visit to Cafe Ambio worthwhile. With its friendly service and inviting menu, this cafe leaves a lasting impression, enticing repeat visits.

A lovely cafe just behind Astley Park. Very quick service and it’s nice to see inside one of the old buildings on the park. Very good food and polite staff. Would recommend

Slightly upmarket cafe. Ideal place to stop, rest and treat yourself. There's a great selection of cakes to go with a tea, coffee or hot chocolate (with whipped cream and marshmallows). Hot food is good too particularly the soups. Soft drinks are available; the usual fizzy junk plus a few 'adult' bottled drinks, like lightly sparkling elderflower if you're feeling posh. The lovely outdoor seating is within the old, red brick stable courtyard. Staff are efficient, polite and helpful.

Great selection of cakes, generous meals and nice hot drinks. Free parking and not a long way off the motorway - a great alternative to service stations! Lovely surroundings and friendly enough staff. What's not to like!

Warm, inviting , spacious cafe in the grounds of Astley park. Child friendly and dog friendly as well. Nice The indoor seating and plenty of outdoor seating available as well. The hot chocolate and mocha was good and the tea cakes were moist. A whole section of doggy treats available as well. Wouldn’t mind coming back.

Called in and had a super ploughman’s lunch. The food quality was very good. The ham was tasty and succulent, salads and slaw tasty, homemade pickles vibrant. The homemade sausage roll stole the show. Good atmosphere, but acoustics are a little weird amplified the noise. Front of house service was very pleasant.

A winters day visit. The cafe felt cosy and staff were happy to welcome us into their warm establishment, following a snowy walk around the park. They were friendly, professional and efficient. A toasted teacakes with butter and jam was 4.50. The pot of tea was enough for me to have 3 x cups. Menu is extensive with a range of choices available. A choice of Puppacchinos was also available - cream with treat, ice cream or cup of mixed treats. All at 50p per cup. It was a must! I highly recommend this cafe if you are ever in the Astley Park area. I have never been able to fault it !

Lovely staff, excellent food and it is in Astley park which offers good walks . It has a beautiful fountain in the lake. There is also a flower show once a year which is spectacular.
